Meaning of the Eyewear

— Hean Angkor

Hean Angkor is a design created from Angkor-style motifs in the “Hean” form, combined with carvings of cranes that appear on temple towers.

The Angkor motif represents the noble heritage of the Khmer ancestors, embodying their remarkable power and prestige.

The crane—also known as the sacred crane—is widely believed across Asia to be a symbolic bird that brings prosperity, harmony, serenity, and longevity to all people.

— Chhouk Angkor

This design is inspired by Angkor motifs in the form of lotus petals, which are considered the foundation of many traditional patterns.

The Angkor motif in the lotus-petal form expresses the magnificence of the heritage carved onto various temple towers throughout the Angkor Empire, created by the great and noble Khmer ancestors.

THE STORYLINE

Starting from a woman who has a different perspective and way of thinking from others—someone brave enough to try everything and embrace new experiences in life—this inspired her to create a work that represents Khmer national identity while connecting it to modern society.

This became the motivation for her to explore and deeply study Khmer patterns and carvings, so she could clearly understand their origins and structures. With this understanding, she aimed to incorporate and design these motifs onto the body of the glasses, which is her new creative concept.

She also wants to showcase the elegance, refinement, and nobility of Khmer art, highlighting the intricate details from one line to another within the traditional patterns.

However, creating any masterpiece is never easy, and there are always unexpected challenges along the way… Ehh ehh!!
